The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room. It's still a good value, especially if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes. 2. IRobot Roomba X30 The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning. It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops. The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep. robotvacuummops 's also a bit costly however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing some more volume and a little more cost this is a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people. iRobot L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and washes and dries mop pads. The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords. Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an attribute called “Intelligent Dirt Detection”, which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be. For larger homes it's recommended to choose one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home by using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be useful if you own a lot furniture. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very beneficial. 5. iRobot Roomba RX3 The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base. The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana.
